The annual European EnerGreenDeal Conference will take place in December

Business Bridge Europe, logos and MCI Brussels are excited to announce the launch of the 4th European EnerGreenDeal Conference. This event, held on 12 December 2024 at the Egmont Palace in Brussels, will bring business and policy leaders together to shape Europe’s future energy and industrial policies.

Held right at the start of the new mandates of the European Parliament and the European Council, the conference will take place at a critical time and be one of the first major events dedicated to the energy and industrial challenges of the next five years.

Building on a successful 3rd edition, which gathered 300 participants and 30 speakers, including former European Commission’s Vice-President for the European Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, Energy Commissioner, Kadri Simson, key MEPs and several senior officials from the European Commission, the conference will feature transversal political discussions, targeted technical sessions, and networking opportunities to spur debates on combining Europe’s decarbonisation efforts with an ambitious industrial policy.

By bringing together key new EU decision-makers, top energy and industrial stakeholders, and ambitious and promising start-ups, EnerGreenDeal connects the dots between all viewpoints on critical energy and industrial issues through comprehensive, inclusive debates and countless informal meetings and conversations alongside the official programme.

Key themes we will explore during the conference include:

  • The Fit-for-55 package implementation and the 2040 climate target: the recently finalised legislative package represents a significant step up in terms of decarbonisation ambition. But it comes at a challenging time for Europe’s industry and when the European elections have shown that citizens are not entirely convinced by the Green Deal. The conference will explore matching these ambitious targets with adequate support, in order to remain realistic and achievable.

  • Industrial policy in the wake of the Antwerp Declaration: the cross-sectoral success of the Antwerp Declaration underlines growing worries and dissatisfaction of industries operating in Europe. The recent crises of the past few years underlined major weaknesses that could deeply hinder the decarbonisation of Europe. The conference will discuss building a comprehensive framework to make sure that Europe’s decarbonisation ambition does not lead to its deindustrialisation.

  • Providing reliable, affordable and low-carbon energy to European industries: in times of high energy prices, the immediate priority for European industries is to get access to reliable and affordable energy sources that are as low-carbon as possible. EnerGreenDeal will discuss addressing this need, so that Europe can remain competitive and counter the risk of industrial relocation.

We extend a warm invitation to all stakeholders willing to shape Europe’s energy and industrial policies. Join us in Brussels on the 12th December for an enriching and insightful experience.
