Fostering dialogue between the 5G Automotive Association and the industrial ecosystem in Turin, Italy

On 11-14 November 2019, logos organised the 12th edition of the 5G Automotive Association quarterly face-to-face meetings in Turin, Italy. The event brought together the association’s members to discuss progress on the ‘Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything’ (C-V2X) technology. It convened a policy symposium, live-demonstrations and a press conference.

First, the policy symposium convened more than 250 5G technology specialists from the automotive and telecoms industries. They discussed the latest challenges in the field of connected and automated mobility and the solutions C-V2X can provide.

Second, our team organised six live demonstrations of connected cars involving 20 corporate world leaders such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Qualcomm and Vodafone. These demonstrations were an opportunity to showcase the improvements such technology offers in terms of enhanced road safety, reduced CO2 emissions and lessen traffic congestion.

Third, some 40 journalists from leading news outlets were also invited to test the automated cars and attend the press conference facilitated by our communications team. Both broadsheet and specialised media (such as The New York Times, IlSole24Ore, La Stampa, Wired Italia, Economy Up and Automoto) covered the live demonstrations.
