The All-Terrain Vehicles Industry European Association (ATVEA) represents manufacturers of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and Side-by-Side Vehicles (SbS). Together, they account for about 80% of the European market.
In the early 2000s, the market for ATVs experienced steady growth. In 2003, the industry, supported by logos, took the initiative to establish ATVEA to allow manufacturers to pool their resources. ATVEA’s creation primarily aimed at promoting industry’s best practices for the responsible use of ATVs and SbS and contributing to the development of an appropriate regulatory framework by providing a shared platform for communication with the EU institutions.
logos has formed the Secretariat for our All Terrain Association since 2003. With the ATVEA members, logos took the challenge to develop specific safety and environmental rules in EU Regulation. Together, we also managed to educate industry stakeholders on the safe and social operation of these vehicles. These campaigns could only have been a success thanks to logos’ excellent contacts with the EU authorities and its well-trained staff.
logos has been managing ATVEA since its establishment in 2003, which makes the association the longest-standing client of our agency. We support its functioning by serving as its General Secretariat. We thus manage its governance obligations from the publication of annual accounts and the organisation of a yearly general assembly. Our team also coordinates the organisation’s daily activities and the implementation of its annual work plan.
More specifically, logos facilitates the work of its Technical Committee and its Education and Communication Committee. logos adds value by facilitating consensus among members, providing intelligence on legislative files and coordinating advocacy strategies to make this niche industry’s voice heard when necessary. The aim is to ensure sustainable market conditions for these vehicles highly used in agriculture while abiding by the highest safety and environmental standards.
logos also strives to build connections with national associations across the European Union and other regional industry associations aiming at strengthening the network.
Thanks to the technical and administrative support of logos, ATVEA worked successfully with the European Commission to provide dedicated rules for its vehicles in EU type-approval legislation. Furthermore, the association has become a credible voice of the sector respected by both industry and policymakers.
